If you're curious, here's a little about my background on my music education.

I started my formal music instruction at the age of 12, taking private drums lessons with Steven Tate out of Central Oregon Music in Bend, Oregon. I joined all of the school bands that I could, including the wind ensemble, the jazz band, and was even recruited to play tympani in the orchestra.

After high school, I packed up and moved all the way across the country from Bend, Oregon to Boston, Massachusetts in January 2004 where I decided to pursue my passion for music and hone my chops at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music.

I choose the Pro Music degree program at Berklee since it afforded me the flexibility to "pick my poison" so-to-speak as to what to specialize in as a professional musician. Technically, I majored in drum set performance and got the chance to study with some dedicated educators and overall great players such as:

Casey Scheurell

Dave Dicenso

Larry Finn

and Ralph Peterson Jr (RIP)

I minored in guitar and bass studies, along with an emphasis on songwriting & music production allowing me to come out of the college experience with an incredibly varied skill set as a multi-instrumentalist and productive performer on stage wearing a variety of hats.
